The Theta TP-101 is designed to fit securely into a vacant PCI slot. The unit does not utilize the PCI
bus for software control, it can be modified to be positioned anywhere you see fit within your case.
The all black PCB is packed with solid state electronics, which allows me to guess that is employs some
form of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to control fan speed. An array of rheostats make up the right side
of the board, this was probably used to calibrate the readings from the thermal resistors. The other
side of the Theta TP-101 features all the 3-pin light connectors and thermal sensor connectors. It
also features the 4-pin Molex connector, and states the board’s revision number of 1.0.

The black theme carries itself forward on the outside piece of the Theta TP-101. The brand name and
corporate logo is accompanied by the USB plug, and a green status LED.

There are 8 standard thermal sensors that are included with this package. Here we observe a universal
2-pin connector, this is nice because if you end up with unused thermal sensors, you can add them to
your ‘spare parts’ inventory. A foot long shielded USB cable is bundled for software connectivity and
8 pieces of opaque tape are included for mounting the thermal sensors.
Installation:
To test the Theta TP-101, I installed the device into the following test rig:
- AMD 2400+ XP
- MSI KT3 Ultra Motherboard
- 512MB PC-2700 RAM
- NVIDIA FX5200 video card
- Hauppauge PVR 250
- Antec Overture case
- Windows XP/Pro SP2
