Introduction:

With the current state of both technology and the video industry, several products have been derived from necessity of each other. Often, a combination of both has proven to bring a fresh new concept to the consumer market. The PVR or Personal Video Recorder market is one area, which in its current state and success is relative to this scenario that technology and demand often dictate the new standards to be adapted. Smaller, more efficient media players are gaining popularity and bring a wealth of benefits when compared to existing portable media players and technology. Today in MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the new Samsung DVD-R120 DVD Recorder; an all-in-one media solution which provides multi-format DVD recordings.

Specifications:

The DVD-R120 DVD Recorder is one of three available DVD Recorder based units available from Samsung Canada. The DVD-R120 features a one touch recording button that makes recording easier than ever. By simply pressing the button, the Samsung DVD Recorder automatically searches the available recording space on the disc and starts recording the selected program. The Samsung DVD-R120 DVD Recorder ships in a light weight double wall cardboard box. A product shot is showcased on the top and side panels, along with a complete list of specifications and features. Inside the package the DVD-R120 DVD Recorder was packed between two formed pieces of polystyrene and enclosed in a sealed protective plastic bag.

The Samsung DVD-R120 DVD Recorder is bundled with one standard RF cable, one A/V cable, a remote control and three users manuals. The smaller manuals are Quick Setup Guides which cover everything from basic cable connection, menu configuration and operation. The larger owner's manual is vast, spanning 80 pages of detail on utilizing all the built-in menu features as well as information on how to schedule your own personal recordings.
