MODTHEBOX would like to thank Paul from XSPC Performance PC Cooling
for sending the X2O Performance PC Water Cooling Kit for review.
Introduction:
XSPC Performance PC Cooling has been creeping into the water cooling market for some time now. Based out of the UK, they have
been a producer of competent water blocks and radiators for the enthusiast who likes to pick and choose
his/her components. As water cooling solutions reach mainstream acceptance, full on water cooling kits
garner the bulk of the water cooling market. XSPC answers by introducing a top to bottom water cooling kit,
the X2O. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the X2O Performance PC Water Cooling Kit, a unverisal
product designed for the PC platform.
Specifications:
The X2O Performance PC Water Cooling Kit assembles the typical water cooling trio of components to get you
started; pump/reservoir, CPU water block and radiator. The water block and radiator come from a strong
heritage of performance and design already expected of XSPC, featuring universal compatibility and good looks.
Here are some specifications taken directly from the XSPC Performance PC Cooling website:

Here is a shot of the water block and related mounting hardware. The base of the water block is made of C110 copper with
a plated brass top. Compression fittings are used for the inlet/outlet and water direction is not critical to cooling
performance. The Universal PC Mount is a solid piece of plated brass with various holes drilled for mounting. A bundle of
4 x bolts, 12 x washers, 4 x nuts, 4 x springs and 4 x knurled nuts take care of fastening the hardware to your CPU.
The block arrived in a protective plastic bag which had a thin film of grease all over it. I presume this was to impede
oxidization of the copper base, and wiped off easily.
The base is perfectly flat, but lacking in finish. As you can see you can barely make out the X2O logo in the reflection.
In my experience this characteristic is mostly cosmetic as flatness is of the utmost importance. A ring of copper has been
machined away from the outer circumference of the base. This is no doubt a requirement for mounting to Socket A class
CPU’s.
