MODTHEBOX would like to thank Jack from NMedia System Inc for sending the NMediaPC HTPC 200B Case for review.

NMedia Systems Inc

Introduction:

Home Theatre PCs are a rapidly growing market, with Apple, Microsoft and a multitude of others clamoring for your business and trying to one-up each other. Many people have yet to realize the joys of skipping commercials, recording TV directly into MPEG-II format, or even playing Call of Duty 2 on their massive wide screen TV. NMediaPC have several ready to roll solutions, complete with wireless keyboard, mouse, TV tuner, and application software. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating NMediaPC HTPC 200B, a brand new HTPC style enclosure developed by NMedia System Inc that offers

The NMediaPC HTPC 200B Case was shipped in a ordinary plain brown corrugated cardboard box, with the case itself further protected by the usual twin foam end pieces. I was pleased to note that the paint job was 100% protected by both plastic sheeting and tape-like plastic on any area vulnerable to scratches. Case specifications are present along with sparse company logos.

The optional HTPC Suite 7H looked a bit worse for the wear, but I was glad to see that the internal packaging was excellent, with cushioning foam completely encasing the kit's items.

The NMediaPC HTPC 200B package contained the usual manuals and inside the case were present all required screws, standoffs, zip ties and a power cord. The manuals are extremely brief, especially considering the usually complicated HTPC installation procedure. Also, regarding the IR receiver, the manuals for the case and for the optional kit are slightly contradictory in that one manual recommends disassembling the external receiver and mounting it with the case if it is not already there and the other correctly indicates that this is impossible. (guess which one I read first). Nonetheless the pictures in the manual are welcome, all steps are covered, and the English is legible.
