Installing components into the Silver Storm case be very easy but the star the show is the "Core-Fan", a vertical "L"
shaped bar of 1mm SECC fastened by 1 screw on the top side, and 2 screws on the bottom side of the case. Eleven holes
are drilled along the side, allowing you to freely position the bundled 1000RPM 120mm fan along its vertical axis.
There is enough room to hold two 120mm fans for maximum circulation across your motherboard and PC expansion cards.
Installation:
The test rig for the Silver Storm consists of the following components:
- DFI NF2 Ultra Infinity MOBO
- Athlon 3200+ XP
- Gigabyte G-Force PRO HSF
- nVidia 6600GT AGP Video Card
- Sound Blaster X-Fi
- Intel 1000MT Pro NIC
- Hauppauge 250PVR
- Enermax Liberty 500 PSU
- 5 x HDD’s

To put the Core-Fan design to the test I slapped in the hottest system I own. All of the components went in without a
hitch so there really isn’t much use going into the assembly process. It is worth mentioning that that Core-Fan bracket
does need to be removed to facilitate motherboard and 5.25" drive bay installation.

Things get pretty tight in the Silent Storm case after everything is installed. Being a mid sized tower doesn’t help
things much, as there is no room to move once the Core-Fan is installed. Let’s run some thermal tests to see if this
extra component is worth all the fuss.
