The left side panel of the Lexa features a convenient black handle which allows quick access to the case interior. The handle incorporates a small embedded lock, which will prevent unauthorized access to the case interior when locked with the bundled security keys. Once the side panel has been removed, consumers will be pleased that the Lexa offers plenty of expansion room for a complete system installation but does not include any removable motherboard option.

The design of the PSU mount located at the top of the case is very good and provides additional support in the form of metal tabs and vertical support bars and which stretch to the front of the case chassis. Positioned directly in front of the PSU mount are four external 5.25" drive bays which use a drive rail system for mounting external components.

Underneath the 5.25" external drive bays is the location for the two external 3.5" drive bays for those consumers who still wish to install legacy floppy devices, card readers or fan controllers. The bottom portion of the case features five internal 3.5" drive bays which are suitable for high performance RAID or multi drive configurations. One of the selling points for most of the newer cases that utilize this type of drive configuration is that the drive cages have always been removable. It was a shame that NZXT didn't provide this type of feature in order to make installation and maintenance much easier. One point to note about the bottom drive cage is that it has been rotated 90 degrees and has an additional 120mm intake fan mounted in the front for cooling.
