MODTHEBOX would like to thank Jan from Everglide
for sending the Everglide S-500 Headphones for review.
Introduction:
Everglide, based in San Diego California, is one of the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of enhanced gaming
peripherals since its inception in 1997. This year the company has expanded its product line with the introduction
of its first pair of high-end gaming headphones marketed under the banner of the S-500. With the S-500, Everglide aims
to win the hearts and minds of gamers while at the same time work in conjunction with a slew of big names in the
CPL League. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Everglide S-500 Headphones, a product that delivers top
notch audio positioning sound quality by accentuating key gaming sound frequencies.
Specifications:
The Everglide S-500 Headphones are designed almost exclusively for PC use, making them somewhat unique among high-end
headphones. The design features lots of durable padding on the headband and ear cups, as well as a 3.1m (10 foot)
cord terminated with a 3.5mm stereo jack. Here are some of the specifications taken directly from the Everglide
website:

The Everglide S-500 Headphones arrived in a simple cardboard box, with all the relevant specs and information
clearly printed on the sides.

With the box opened, the headphones were packaged inside an Everglide branded cloth bag with a pull string. The cloth bag is
a nice edition for easy transportation to a LAN Party. All over package contents were secured in protective bubble wrap.

Once out of the packaging, I was impressed with the look of the Everglide S-500 Headphones. The ear cans are made of durable black
plastic, and have a very large thick pad. The headband is wraaped in vinyl with additional padding but feels like its constructed
of plastic and metal.

The sliders to adjust for varying sizes of people's noggins are plastic, as is most of the construction of the cans. This is
generally done to reduce weight, but nonetheless these headphones are quite hefty, at least when compared to my ancient behind
the ear Sony headset. The cord is very solid and heavy duty. It's thicker around than any other cable on my desk and certainly
more durable. Cable length for this product is 10 feet which should to be plenty for any computer setup, even if your computer
is under the desk on the other side of the room.
