MODTHEBOX would like to thank Alan from Vantec
for sending the Vantec AVX-100TX AVOX Jukebox for review.
Introduction:
Computers these days are moving away from being just Internet surfing and e-mail machines, and are more rapidly
becoming a main source of entertainment hardware with the movement towards Home Theatre PC's or HTPC's. As more
and more consumers discover the flexibility of using their computers to entertain themselves, at home, work and
even in the car, the market has generated a few portable convenience devices aimed at just that. There are portable
MP3, Video, and DVD players to keep us entertained on the road, and portable USB enclosures that allow us to move
files from one computer to another or to share with family and friends. Nothing on the market has allowed us to
do all of them in one device with the exception of a laptop, until now. Today in the MTB Labsm we will be evaluating
the AVX-100TX AVOX Jukebox, a light weight portable multi-media player from Vantec.

The inner packaging consists of a molded cardboard insert that has individual sections for the AVOX, and all of its various
components. The power adapter is housed in its own box at the bottom right. All of the various cables are kept individually
in bags that are clearly marked as to their function. The AVOX comes with a CD that contains a user PDF file and drivers for
those individuals running a Windows operating system other than XP.

Vantec has included all the needed cables to get the unit up and running. The package contains a USB, component, digital coax,
power adapter, and audio video cables. The cables that come with the AVOX are of the same quality that is usually found in the
box of a DVD player. One thing I noticed is the lack of an S-video cable. Whether your television set is new or a slightly
older, as long as it has AV inputs, these cables will get you connected without trouble.
