MODTHEBOX would like to thank Nick from Crazy PC for sending the Thermalright Ultra-90 K8 CPU Cooler for review.

Crazy PC

Introduction:

When enthusiasts and overclockers think of high performance CPU air cooling solutions, one name is mentioned quite often in the various forums and modding sites, and that name is Thermalright. With its largely successful line of XP series of coolers Thermalright has taken the lead in the aftermarket CPU cooling race. About a month ago Thermalright introduced two new CPU coolers called the Ultra-90 and Ultra-120 (soon to be released), which are similar in design to the passively cooled HR-01. Both of these coolers use heat pipe technology to transfer heat from the nickel plated copper base to an array of aluminum fins. The Ultra-90 CPU cooler uses a 92mm fan, while the larger Ultra-120 uses a 120mm fan. Today in the MTB Labs we will be taking a closer look at the Ultra-90 K8 CPU Cooler. The Ultra-90 is available for the Athlon 64 processors and the Pentium4 LGA775 processors.

Specifications:

The Ultra-90 K8 is considered a quiet and powerful cooler due to multiple heat pipes and large aluminum fin area. The cooler features proprietary bent winglet design to minimize airflow resistance. Here are some features and specifications taken directly from the Thermalright and Crazy PC website:
