MODTHEBOX would like to thank Bill from MNPCTech for sending the Billet Machined Fan Grills for review.

MNPCTech

Introduction:

A few years ago the term "case modding" was relatively unknown, left only to a selective group of individuals and hobbyists who wanted more performance and aesthetics out of their boring beige PC's. Most of the materials and resources available were sourced out of various computer shops, automotive departments and hardware stores. Part of the success of performing these modifications required access to tools and some level of skill. Today, times have changed and we have witnessed the saturation of pre-fabricated kits and the birth of a new type of retailer. To simplify the process of modifying a case, no longer requires access to expensive tools and hard to find materials. Case modders can now source out the parts needed for that important project online from various case modder friendly retailers. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Billet Machined Fan Grills from MNPCTech Pro Case Modding & Supplies.

Specifications:

All the MNPCTech Kits require assembly but most of the work has been completed by the vendor. Users will be required to have access to some available tools in order to perform the modifications outlined in these kits. Here is a list of specifications taken from the MNPCTech website:

The MNPCTech Billet Machined Fan Grills arrived in good condition and was shipped in cardboard packaging via UPS. All components included in the kit are sealed in a plastic protective bag and bubble wrap. Since this product is self explanatory no instructions are included in the package.

While the MNPCTech web store offers a unique assortment of case modding parts and supplies, owner Bill Owen has extended the product line by offering MNPCTech branded case modding t-shirts. Included in the review package was a sample of MNPCTech's blueprint for the modern day extreme machine. A case modification in progress silkscreened in white on black. This is definitely a cool collector's item for the up and coming case modder.

My first impressions of the MNPCTech Billet Machined Fan Grills after removing the packaging were very positive. Out of all the different fan grill creations that I have evaluated over the years, the MNPCTech Billet Machined Fan Grills are far and away the nicest looking set of that I have seen in a long time. Included in the package were two sets of 120mm grills measuring approximately 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" and one 80mm grill measuring 3.5" x 3.5". Consumers will be pleased to know that MNPCTech also includes a 92mm variety but at the time of this review does not include 60mm or 40mm versions. Overall, construction of each grill consists of 3/16" thick solid aluminum that has been professionally created via CNC mill. Also included in the package was a removable honeycomb mesh grill and 4 stainless steel mounting screws.
