After removing the thumb screws and detaching the side panel, I was quickly reminded that this is a value case. The case loses all rigidity with the side panel removed, and the panel itself has a slight wobble to it. But no more than is to be expected from this type of enclosure. There is an adjustable duct that you can use to port fresh air onto your CPU. In the illustration to the right, you can count the tool-less 5.25" drive bays and 3.5" drive bays. The hard drive cage is rotated 90 degrees horizontally and is also tool-less in design.

PC expansion cards are also secured in a tool-less fashion. These black fingers are hinged and swing out individually when inserting or removing an expansion card, and snap securely into place when fastening a card into the case. To the right, we get a better look at the drive bay array.

With the right panel removed, observe the huge non-removable motherboard tray. There is a small rectangular hole along the top for you to neatly route power cables to your hard drives and stuff.

Here are a couple of shots with the front plastic bezel removed with space for a 120mm intake fan. By the looks of things, you won’t need to remove the hard drive cage to install one. One feature I like to see in every case I buy is the fact that all the buttons and I/O plugs are not fastened to the front bezel. With the I-Star S-8 Storm Series ATX Case all I/O plugs are neatly fastened to the chassis, making the front bezel easy to remove, and easy to install.
