The top portion of the Thermaltake Aguila VD1000BWS Mid-Tower Case features a stealth panel and the location for a few hidden ports. The case includes two USB ports, one IEEE 1394, a microphone and a headphone jack. The ports are connected via a series of extender cables which are located inside the case and must be connected to the appropriate motherboard headers prior to use. While most manufacturers conveniently feature these types of ports on the front bezel, the location of this type of feature might generate some mixed reactions. The ports are perfectly accessible if this case is position directly on the ground. If placed on a desk, consumers will need to stand up to connect the appropriate accessory which might be cumbersome after long term use.

The Aguila includes two embedded security locks on the front bezel and side window panel which can prevent chassis intrusion. Each security lock has two different positions that can lock or unlock the side panel and the entire front bezel based on how the key is positioned. One option that I would have loved to see included is the ability to lock the swing away front door. Since this option has not been included if you transport or move the Aguila from one position to another the swing away door has a tendency to open unexpectedly which can become very annoying.

Opening up the swing away door and lockable front bezel which reveals the external drive bays. A total of 5 x 5.25" drive bays and 2 x 3.5" external drive bays are provided to handle any type of computer configuration. The bottom portion of the case includes a front mounted Thermaltake branded 120mm cooling fan. The cooling fan measures 120mm x 120mm x 25mm and runs at 1300 RPM with noise level of 17dBA. All fans and drives bays include removable filters which aid in keeping dust from entering inside the case and are completely machine washable.
