Thermaltake Aguila boasts a number of customization options starting with a removable HDD/FDD 5.25" panel which also houses the Power and Reset buttons as well as the activity LEDs. This unique panel can be positioned in any of the free 5.25" drive bays in the top or bottom portion of the case. A series of extender cables protrude from the rear of the unit and connect to the appropriate headers on a motherboard. This is a luxury not offered in most standard cases currently on the market and it was nice to see Thermaltake offer something functional and very different from the norm.

The back portion of the Aguila features a standard PSU mount, I/O ATX back plate, expansion slots, and a 120mm exhaust fan mount. An additional Quad LED 120mm Thermaltake fan sits behind a honeycomb style grill that has been integrated into the case chassis. While the left and right side panels are completely removable, the top panel has been riveted directly to the chassis. An ATX I/O back plate is also provided in the package which will fit most standard motherboards and includes all the necessary cut outs for serial, parallel, video, USB, mouse, keyboard, onboard LAN and integrated sound.

The Thermaltake Aguila VD1000BWS Mid-Tower Case comes equipped with plenty of expansion room in the form of 7 PCI/AGP slots ready for use. The tabs covering the slots can be easily removed once the motherboard has been mounted. In order to emphasize tool-key entry options Thermaltake has included what can be considered two of the largest thumbscrews that I have seen on any case. I found it kind of strange that this type of configuration was not extended to the right side panel which still requires a Phillips screwdriver for removal.
