The Thermaltake Aguila VD1000BWS Mid-Tower Case includes a pre-modified window on the left side panel. The window uses a series of push-in pins to support a sheet of clear acrylic that is aligned on the inside of the case. As an alternative consumers can order with case without the pre-modified window for a stock case look or to incorporate their own custom window design.

In order to gain access to the inside of the Aguila, two thumb screws must be removed from the back of the case chassis. The inside portion of the case offers plenty of features but does not include a slide-out motherboard option. The design of the PSU mount located at the top of the case is very good and provides additional support in the form an add-on power support bar that can be screwed into the case chassis. An inside view of the external drive bays reveals that this particular case works using a drive rail system for mounting external components.

The bottom portion of the case features four internal 3.5" drive bays which are suitable for high performance RAID or multi-drive configurations. The drive cage is completely removable and also uses a set of bundle drive rails to assist with component installation and maintenance. One important point to note about the internal drive cage is that it has been rotated 90 degrees. This means that the front mounted 120mm intake fan can blow directly across the surface of any installed hard drive and assist in keeping this entire area cool.
