The external housing of the NMediaPC HTPC 180BA is very easy to work with and in order to gain entry into the case requires the removal of two thumbscrews located on the rear. Once the thumbscrews have been removed, the top panel slides backwards and can be lifted off the chassis. The material that comprises the top panel is very thin and felt easily bendable in my hands. A view of the interior reveals a large assortment of cabling and a small amount of space to work when installing components. Towards the front of the case is the location of the single external 5.25" drive bay which is completely removable. Consumers can easily install the optical drive of their choice and slip the unit back into place.

The specifications for the NMediaPC HTPC 180BA advise that this case can support three internal 3.5" drive bays. There are 2 drive bays located on the left side of the case and one more under the external 5.25" drive bay. Towards the right side portion of the case is a small mount for installing an optional MCE IR Receiver for those consumers who wish to use Microsoft Media Center Edition 2005 has their primary HTPC application.

As previously mentioned, the NMediaPC HTPC 180BA Case comes bundled with a 300 watt power supply. What has changed from previous revisions is a switch from a 270 watt Enermax EG285S VB PSU to an NMediaPC MP-300 branded power supply. The cable layout for the PSU includes a 20 to 24-pin ATX connector, P4 12v connector, 2 x Serial ATA connectors, 4 x 4-pin Molex connectors, floppy connector and a fan monitor.
