MODTHEBOX would like to thank Annie from Thermaltake
for sending the Thermaltake VC4001SNS Mozart HTPC Case for review.
Introduction:
As you may or may not already know the HTPC market is growing in popularity in leaps and bounds. The concept of the
Home Theater PC or HTPC allows consumers to create an all-in-one entertainment solution which offers many conveniences
and features in one component. Practically every case manufacturer currently on the market has a case or two aimed at
the HTPC market, and Thermaltake is one such company. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Thermaltake VC4001SNS Mozart,
one of three desktop or HTPC cases offered by Thermaltake.
Specifications:
The VC4001SNS Mozart HTPC Case is priced in the middle of the three desktop cases offered by Thermaltake, and is available
in two different versions. The Thermaltake VC4000SNS is the model number that is sold without the Media Lab Kit, while
the Thermaltake VC4001SNS has the Media Lab kit included, although my sample showed up in two separate boxes. Here are
the features and specifications right from the Thermaltake website:

The Thermaltake VC4001SNS Mozart HTPC Case comes in your typical heavy duty cardboard box. The front of the box shows a picture of the
case along with the VFD and remote control, and text highlighting the key features of the case. The rear of the box
employs pictures that further highlight a few more key features of the case, as well as displays some of the functions
of the media package. The top of the box features a convenient carry handle, while the sides denote the box dimensions,
weight and included case options for PSU and VFD.

The case is well protected by way of thick Styrofoam inserts. Thermaltake has also gone so far as to use a soft mesh
type cloth to protect the outer case from possible abrasion damages. In two separate plastic bags, you will find the
installation manual, bag of mounting screws, a strip of two sided tape, and a small cleaning cloth.

The drop down door for the 5.25" bay area is taped shut to prevent it from accidentally opening during shipping. The
plastic lens for the VFD display has a clear protective film to prevent scratches during shipping. The case is available
in a silver finish only, with the USB, VFD, and horizontal center strip portion finished in anodized black. Only the
front of the case is constructed from aluminum, the rest of the outer chassis and inner portions are constructed from
S.E.C.C steel. The Thermaltake VC4001SNS Mozart HTPC Case sports chrome finished Power and Reset buttons, and the front
I/O panel has dual USB 2.0, IEEE 1394 Firewire, and headphone & microphone ports.
