The VFD must removed from its original 5.25 mounting bracket. Once the bracket is removed the VFD can be mounted to the metal stand off on the back of the front fascia. The next step is to connect the 3-pin power, and the wire from the case for the power switch to the VFD.

Once the VFD has been mounted and all the cables attached to it, the next step is to feed the wiring through the opening and into the case. For the VFD to work there are three things that need to be connected: they are the USB, power switch, and the 20/24-pin main power Molex. Notice the small holes that are stamped out for the 80mm cooling fan, in previous case reviews I have found this style to generate additional noise or whistle, later on in the review let’s see if this holds true with this case as well.

In order to install any optical drive the 3.5" cage needs to be removed first in order to gain access to the optical drive screws. The manual indicates not to use this for HDD mounting as it may cause interference with some motherboards. If this is holds true then this 3.5" mounting cage will serve no purpose whatsoever, even if used to mount a floppy device as there is no way to access the front of the floppy from the front of the without removing the front fascia.
