The top right hand side of the mouse pad is the painted with the trademarked Ratpadz logo in silver lettering. The underside of the Ratpadz is fitted with small plastic feet which assist in keeping the mouse pad stationary when positioned on your desk.

The outside edges of the Ratpadz are completely beveled and contoured to perfection. An arch at the bottom extends the width of the surface area providing more than enough room for your mouse. The front portion of the mousing surface has an curved arch allowing the user an area for proper hand placement. The benefit is that you can rest your hand comfortably without feeling fatigued or tired.

The black colour of the Ratpadz also plays an important factor when using an optical mouse. It reflects the light generated by the 400-800 dpi optical mouse sensor. This gurantees that the mouse will track twice as fast and accurately than a standard trackball mouse. I use a Logitech Wheel Mouse for daily everyday use and found that it was able to glide over the surface of the Ratpadz and track properly in Windows XP. I tested the mouse on some of today's hottest games such as Quake 3 Area, Unreal Tournament, Max Payne and Return to Castle Wolfenstein and found the results to be better than I expected.
