Lets take a closer look at the connectivity options of the Seasonic S12 Energy Plus 650W PSU. The main power connector is a 20/24 pin
plug type, if a 20-pin connection is required, the user just has to fold open the 4-pin portion and snap it off. There are two 6-pin
PCI-E connectors, one 8-pin EPS 12v connector, as well as one 4-pin 12v power connector all measuring approximately 21 inches in
length.

The Seasonic S12 Energy Plus 650W PSU can support up to 6 SATA devices natively. This is done with two wire runs that have three SATA
connectors on each run; for some reason Seasonic did not sleeve in between each connector. For the HDD and 5.25" devices, the Seasonic
S12 Energy Plus 650W PSU can support up to 9 of these devices, by way of three wiring runs, with three connectors on each run. Here
Seasonic did sleeve in between all of the connectors. The connectors are of the easy swap style allowing trouble free connection and
disconnection. If you did not notice, the one thing missing is a power connector for a floppy drive, if you still use a floppy drive in
your system you will need to purchase an adapter.

As we can see, the aluminum heatsink has fins that are staggered and bent in a T-shape. This allows maximum cooling for not only the
heatsink but for all the components underneath as well. We can see the Adda 120mm cooling fan in charge of keeping this cool and quiet.
When powered up on the bench the fan was quiet and still managed to move a decent amount of air. Here are the specifications for the
fan taken directly from the Adda website:
- Dimensions: 120 mm (L) x 120mm (H) x 25mm (W)
- Speed: 2200 RPM
- Airflow: 85.2 CFM
- Pressure: .136
- Noise: 39.1 (dB/A)
- Power Rating: 4.44 W
- Current:.37(A)
- Bearing Type: Ball
- Voltage Rating: 12 V
- Current Type: DC

Conclusion:
After spending a few days testing the Seasonic S12 Energy Plus 650W PSU under a variety of conditions such as gaming, DVD ripping, and
running benchmark applications such as 3d Mark 05, this unit did show a small fluctuation on the PCI-E side, but only a mere tenth of
a volt. This S12 Energy Plus in terms of power is more than adequate for most upper end systems, and with it’s 80 plus certification it
does it more efficiently. With quad 12v rails, SLI ready, 3 year warranty, and 650w of available power this unit is a worthy piece of
hardware upgrade. The only thing that some may see as a problem is the lack of floppy power connector. The Seasonic S12 Energy Plus
650W PSU is a powerful and well built piece of hardware for the price and I am awarding it a final rating of
8.5 out of 10. If you have any questions regarding this review be sure
to visit the Seasonic Electronics website for more information or discuss them in our
forums.
