Out of the box, my initial impression on the CoolIT Systems Freezone CPU Cooler was positive. Having previewed this product on the CoolIT website before the product was in house left me with much anticipation to see if this product would perform as well in real life as its website claimed. Using TECs to chill the circulating water is a huge advantage this compact all-in-one unit has over all the other products in its class. Typically the extremely advanced or hardcore computer user may use TECs running in conjunction with a water cooling set up. By CoolIT Systems’ using this type of hardware, it gives the most novice user cooling technology usually reserved for the more advanced user.

Unlike most conventional water cooling systems the Freezone CPU Cooler from CoolIt Systems does not use a radiator, instead it uses a large piece of skived aluminum as a heatsink. The heatsink captures and draws the heat away from the “hot” side of the TECs, as opposed to a radiator that draws the heat away from the circulating water. The Freezone CPU Cooler utilizes a 92mm x 38mm fan; the specifications on the CoolIT website shows it as a 92mm x 25mm fan. At the time of this review I was unable to connect to the Young Lin website to dig up some further specifications for the fan, according to my motherboard utility its speed registers at 3200 RPM at maximum setting.

The pump for the Freezone CPU Cooler is a mag drive style with a small built in reservoir. The system is serviced by way of a small screw in plug. This will allow the end user to top the system up if needed, although the Freezone CPU Cooler never requires refilling, for the entire life of the system according to CoolIT Systems. The coolant tubes are wrapped in a metal anti kink coils sleeves, which helps to support the weight of the tubing, as well as preventing any types of kinking. The blue anodized portions are the water tanks and they are attached to the cold side of the TECs which are sandwiched in the white area to the black anodized heatsink.
