Out of the package, my first impressions of the Kama-Meter Multi-Functional Controller were extremely positive. The unit has a very clean layout and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Scythe has maximized the design of this unit by including three active display indicators. The default front bezel is coloured white with 4 mid-sized chrome knobs which are located on the left and right hand side of the 5.25" drive bay plate. The chrome knobs have blue accents, which indicate knob rotation (left to right) as well as identify which knob is related to each function. The two knobs on the left are used for fan channel and RPM adjustment. The two knobs are on the right are used for temperature monitoring and volume control.

The rear portion of the Kama-Meter Multi-Functional Controller securely houses the most important piece of the unit, the Printed Circuit Board. The PCB is professionally designed with all the components organized and no exposed solder joints. There are four existing channels for fan control although there is no indication in the documentation or on the Scythe website what the maximum wattage rating is per channel. By rotating the chrome silver knobs from left and right allows you to vary the power wattage ranging from 7 volts to 12 volts. There are four additional 2-pin headers for the bundled thermal probes allowing consumers the option of monitoring temperature levels from four different heat sources. The unit itself requires 12V of power and simply connects to spare 4-pin Molex connector from the PSU.

Swamping the default white front panel for an alternative black or silver panel is a straightforward process. All that is required is to remove all four chrome knobs and 2 mounting screws on the left and right hand sides. Once the old panel has been removed you simply insert the replacement panel and then reverse the installation process.
