MODTHEBOX would like to thank Lori Lee from CoolJag for sending the CoolJag JAC565C CPU Cooler for review.

Introduction:

CoolJag is a new player in the PC thermal solutions market. Established in 1999, they have a wide range of CPU coolers for most applications and many are designed especially for the overclocker community. CoolJag uses the latest Skiving technology to achieve maximum cooling with this new style of heatsinks. This creates a greater fin density, without any bonding material as the fins are literally cut from the main body of the heatsink. The JAC565C is made specifically for the overclocker community, featuring a solid copper heatsink and a powerful 70mm fan for optimal cooling. Today in the MTB labs, we are taking a look at the JAC565c, a heatsink designed specifically for overclocking.

Specifications:

The JAC565C follows the design of most standard coolers on the market by using an a copper base. The technology behind the design is known as Skiving Fins or Skiving Technology. The fins and the heatsink base of the JAC565C are manufacturered from the same piece of metal, with fins created by shaving away the excess metal, leaving extremely thin, slightly angled fins that provide a large amount of surface area. Here are some specifications from CoolJag’s website:

The cooler ships in a corrugated cardboard box and sports the CoolJag Logo. A white sticker on the side panel identifies the model of CPU cooler, and the processor rating. Included with the heatsink are an instruction manual, a replacement two-piece retention base, four screws and some generic thermal compound. The JAC565C is a rated specifically for Pentium 4 Socket 478 motherboards.

The fan shroud is painted black and sports a sweet looking CoolJag logo which is embossed in white. Unlike the JAC663A, the sides of the JAC565C are notched where the heatsink is cross cut. The power for the fan is supplied through a 3-pin connector that is to be plugged into the corresponding motherboard header clip.
