Introduction:
Conventional CPU coolers have held to some pretty basic designs, with only a few manufacturers deviating from the norm.
Most heatsinks are square, with fins composed of copper or aluminum combined with an exhaust fan mounted on top.
Zalman Tech based out of Anaheim, CA has been a leader in providing near silent cooling solutions that not only perform
well, but will also handle overclocked environments. The company has introduced their patented CNPS (Computer Noise
Prevention System), by creating a series of silent computing and performance based products utilizing the famous flower
heatsink design. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Zalman CNPS6500B-AICu, a product which utilizes an all
aluminum flower design with a copper core.
Specifications:
The CNPS6500B-AICu is an all aluminum CPU cooler with a copper core designed for any processor running on a Intel Pentium 4
(Socket 478) system. It offers good overall performance in near silence using a slightly unorthodox design. Here are

The unit ships in a standard retail box with a cellophane window. The heatsink is in full view, guaranteed to grab the
attention of all. The unit is labelled the CNPS6500B-AICu, with CNPS being an acronym for Computer Noise Prevention
System. A side panel label lists the specifications for the unit with this specific heatsink designed for the Socket
478 system. Inside the package the heatsink was carefully wrapped with cardboard to support the box from compression
damage during storage and shipping.

The kit includes the heatsink, two plastic retention clips, a 92mm fan with a custom thumbscrew design, a fan control
switch for voltage regulation, two socket clips, a custom installation tool, 6 mounting screws (three metric, three
imperial), a tube of thermal compound, and a user’s manual printed in both in the English and Chinese language.
