There was no short supply of prizes to be handed out as many individuals managed to walk away with top
quality items from the event sponsors. For those individuals who did not win any items in the lottery
draw, free t-shirts were available from A-Bit, Cooler Master and D-Link.

Prior to the venue, Cooler Master had announced that it would be sponsoring a case modding competition during
the course of the event. The Winter Fragfest 2006 ran into the same problems reported last year with the
INTEL TFL Summer Fragfest 2005 where the contest was cancelled due to poor turn out. While there were
no original mods for the contest, there were still quite a few tricked out pre-modified cases spotted
in the BYOC area.

With the prize giveaways completed it was time to start the first round in the gaming competition. Registered teams would
be competing in several elimination tournaments to test their skills in Counter Strike v1.6, Counter Strike Source, Warcraft
III: The Frozen Throne and Starcraft.

In the final results, eMg won Counter Strike 1.6 over Heat 16-8 after fighting their way back from the lower brackets
to take 1st place. E-piphany took 3rd place. In Counter Strike Source eMg was defeated 10-16 by Swayze who won first
place with Veritas taking 3rd. iloveyou took first in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne defeating Cuteguy#1 in a Best of
3. Starcraft was won by JF in a best of 5 series with JF defeating CuteGuy#1 3-0. The LG Electronics booth ran a 1v1
Unreal Tournament against Canada's top UT player Osis. He remained undefeated dying only once from all the opponents
that pit their skills against him.

There was more activity in the BYOC area as most gamers returned to their seats to chat, play games or compete in the
TFL tournaments. At the end of the evening the TFL team made short work of cleaning up the event area and still managed
to get together for a group photo.

Conclusion:
As a staple in the GTA area; the Toronto Fun League continues to provide yearly events for all gamers
to come to one location to enjoy a fun filled weekend of contests, tournaments and prizes. With a
dedicated team and support of big name sponsors, just about everyone managed to walk away with some
sort of prize to celebrate the weekend. With 2007 now in full swing, the direction of the TFL
continues to promote future events with more prizes and larger venues. Overall, I was pleased to be
apart of the event even though the case modding competition was cancelled, but commend everyone who
participated on a very fun filled weekend.
